That was the case for one individual, who recently shared how Siloam Mission’s health centre brought a life-changing realization to light—his need for glasses.

“When you’re living on the streets, you learn to get by with less. You don’t always realize just how much you’re missing,” Peter (name changed) explained, reflecting on how his eyesight had deteriorated without his knowledge. “Seeing an eye doctor was the last thing on my mind.”

Canada has won the most the most World Mixed Championship medals with three gold, one silver and one bronze medal, including three straight gold medals from 2018-2022.

As we are counting down to the 43rd annual Weyburn Communithon, coming up on October 25th, we are highlighting each of the eight Community Agencies the event benefits, and whose volunteers help to make the event a success each year.

Inclusion Weyburn's mission is to support individuals in our community who have intellectual disabilities. They provide opportunities for them to be equal members of the community and to participate in things that most of us take for granted. 

Today is World Mental Health Day: CMHA Weyburn shares on 'opening up the conversation'

Today is World Mental Health Day, an opportunity to open the conversation and remove the stigma regarding suicide and mental health. This year, the theme is Mental Health at Work, opening the discussions in the workplace surrounding mental health and how it can impact everyone in the workplace.  

Tasha Collins, Program Director for the Weyburn branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association’, extended the sentiment that we need to keep talking about mental health, noting how days like these can raise awareness on a delicate topic.
