Two Saskatchewan RCMP detachments are investigating a pair of single vehicle collisions that occurred on Sunday in southern Saskatchewan.
On June 18, 2023 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Yorkton RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway #47, south of Springside, SK.

Wakaw RCMP search for missing person
Wakaw Detachment of the RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in locating Arthur David Roy Sanderson who was reported missing from One Arrow First Nation.
Arthur David Roy Sanderson was last seen on May 28, 2023. Sanderson is described as 5feet 9 inches tall and 286 lbs, male, wearing black t-shirt and pants.

City green lights proposed 12 lot development on west side
The City of Humboldt has paved the way for Westwood Development Corporation to proceed with a 12-residential lot project on the north side of the Humboldt Co-op Food Store. The decision to sign a 2023 servicing agreement allows Westwood to get infrastructure set up for new homes that will benefit a growing population.

Environment Canada has again issued a special air quality statement for the region, and it cautions that wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations. Everyone can take action to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke.
First ever St. Mary's Villa Walk and Barbecue a hit
Walkers and visitors had a gloriously sunny summer Sunday to gather for the St. Mary’s Villa Foundation Walk and Burger Barbecue.
Dozens of walkers turned out to support the cause as many of the residents had friends and family members accompany them around the walk.
Everyone gathered back at the Villa courtyard for a burger sale, supported by the Humboldt Co-op. Later in the afternoon, residents were treated to an enjoyable afternoon performance of music.
LeRoy residents revel in a car and trade show celebration
There were hot cars and hot deals in LeRoy on Saturday for their Show and Shine and Trade Show on Saturday, June 10.
Main Street was lined with all manners of vehicles, including a pair of Roadrunners and their rival cartoon namesakes. Some vintage trucks were on the scene and something for motorbike enthusiasts to gaze at.
Around the leagues in weekend baseball
Another busy weekend for local ball teams saw plenty of action at home and on the road.
The East Central 15U AAA Dodgers started off at home on Saturday with a pair of wins over the South East A's. In game one, the A's whittled down a 6-run lead, but the Dodgers held on for a 7-5 win. Tyson Hardy and Reese Copeland teamed up on the mound for the win, while Blake Morelli led the way at the plate going 3 for 3.
ICYM - SGI in the know about noise
SGI is getting into the soundcheck business when it comes to loud vehicles. The auto insurer is adopting new policies around noisy vehicles to draw a line in the sand for the operators of light vehicles. A release from SGI states that all light vehicles (such as passenger cars, pickup trucks, minivans, SUVs, and motorcycles) must be quieter than 101.3 decibels.
Local students receive the Kent Lessmeister Memorial Scholarships
Two local graduates have the distinction of being honoured with this year’s Kent Lessmeister Memorial Scholarships. This year’s deserving recipients are Akeisha King from Three Lakes School in Middle Lake and Makayla Hauser from Lake Lenore School. The winners were announced by the Horizon District Athletic Association who administers the awards.
Akeisha plans to take her first year of the U of S Kinesiology program through St. Peters College in Muenster, hoping to eventually transfer into the College of Education.
