City seeing significant increase in property taxes in arrears
The City of Moose Jaw is seeing a significant increase in property tax arrears, which is raising red flags for city administration.
There is a total of $3 million in arrears, compared to $2.1 million last year. This includes $2.97 million in property tax liens and $29,907 in payment plan arrears.

Smile Cookies see smashing success for pair of non-profits
Tim Hortons in Swift Current partnered up with a duo of non-profits to raise over $11,000 with the Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign.
This season's Smile Cookies garnered $11,033 to be split between Southwest Crisis Services and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
Albert Umali, general manager of Tim Hortons highway locations in Swift Current, noted that Smile Cookies were available from November 18 to 24 at all three Swift Current locations.

SGI is warning customers about an email scam circulating claiming to be from the Crown corporation.
While the subject line and text vary, the emails cover subjects such as residency confirmation and registration requests. SGI says it does not contact customers via email to receive this kind of information.
Kindersley woman’s tragic death near Copper Mug Pub in Saskatoon leads to murder charge
The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) has confirmed the city’s 13th homicide of the year following the sudden death of a 20-year-old woman reported on November 15th
Officers responded to a call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on November 15 at a parking lot near the Copper Mug, located in the 1300 block of 8th Street East. Upon arrival, they found the woman deceased at the scene. A significant police presence was reported, with traffic restrictions in the area as officers began their investigation.
WPS investigate hit and run spree last Friday
Last week the Weyburn Police Service responded to a hit and run in a parking lot. Last Friday they saw two more incidents. One occurred behind a local bank around 2 p.m., the other in a Canada Post parking lot between 8:30 and 11 p.m.
Constable Dallas Austin says damage was likely done to all involved vehicles; he stresses the importance of remaining on the scene of these incidents.
