A pair of Dawgs Academy players commit to post-secondary
The Okotoks Dawgs Academy has announced two players have college commitments in the U.S.A.
Preston Tocheniuk, brother of Quinn who plays for the Dawgs WCBL team has committed to Panola College of St. Carthage Texas.
Tocheniuk stands at 6'4 and spent time with the WCBL Dawgs this past summer in three games.
Along with Tocheniuk, right-handed pitcher Patrik Ludviks will also be heading south of the border for post-secondary.
He has committed to playing with Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas. Ludviks is also a towering figure at 6'6".

It's "Retro Night" tonight at the Moose Jaw Events Centre as the Moose Jaw Warriors host the first place Saskatoon Blades. Puck drop is at 7, and you can catch all the action on Country 100, starting with the pregame show at 6:40. The Warriors have some fun lined up for fans tonight, including a chance to buy packages of three throwback player buttons.
In Regina last night, the Tri City Americans needed a shootout to top the Pats 4-3. The Americans visit Moose Jaw Saturday night.
Legionnaires topple Hounds again
Jake Hargrave scored once and had two assists as the Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires beat the Notre Dame Hounds 4-1 last night in Wilcox.
Trae Peterson and Mason Fauser each had a goal and a helper in the win.
Riley Schmeiss had the other Swift Current goal.
Cade Mitchell made 23 saves in the win.
It's the fourth time the Legionnaires have beaten the Hounds this season between exhibition and regular season play.
Swift Current is now 12-3 on the season and they set 4th in the Saskatchewan U18 AAA Hockey League.
Terriers struggle in loss to Niverville
A slow start and a rough third period hurt the Portage Terriers on Wednesday night as they fell 6-2 to the Niverville Nighthawks.
Nighthawks forward Bryce Warkentine opened the scoring in the first five minutes of the game when he snapped a nice shot over the shoulder of Terrier goalie Ryan Velan. The goal seemed to wake up Portage and Adler Johnston cleaned up a rebound to tie the game at 1.
Humboldt Golf Club to host 2025 Saskatchewan Amateur Championships
The top amateur golfers in the province will be teeing it up at the Humboldt Golf Club next summer.
Golf Saskatchewan announced the 2025 provincial amateur golf championship schedule on Thursday, with the Saskatchewan Amateur Championships set to take place in Humboldt, July 15-18.
Legionnaires visit Hounds tonight
The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires look to stay hot as they head to Wilcox tonight to play Notre Dame.
Swift Current has won four of their last five games.
The Legionnaries are 11-3 on the season and sit 4th in the Saskatchewan U18 AAA hockey league.
They beat the Hounds twice in exhibition and once in the regular season so far.
Swift Current is back on home ice this Sunday against the league leading Regina Pat Canadians.
Saskatchewan flexes its way to victory at Man-Sask Challenge in Estevan
Despite the first snow of the year, the recent arm-wrestling tournament in Estevan was a resounding success, drawing about 75 entries and competitors from across the region. Saskatchewan emerged victorious in the highly anticipated Manitoba versus Saskatchewan competition, securing the coveted "Man-Sask" trophy.
Rebels trade Roberts to Wenatchee
Red Deer Rebels Owner, President and General Manager Brent Sutter today announced that the club has completed a trade with the Wenatchee Wild.
The Rebels have traded forward Jeramiah Roberts (’07) to Wenatchee in exchange for a conditional seventh-round selection at the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft.
PCI Trojans celebrate outstanding achievements at annual football banquet
