Ministry in Moldova connecting thousands of Ukrainian refugees with gospel and community

With 100,000 Ukrainian refugees left in Moldova, Mission Eurasia is working to bring the gospel and necessities to people in need. 

When the war first broke out roughly two years ago when Russia invaded Ukraine, a million Ukrainians fled to the small neighbouring country of Moldova. Many have since relocated however roughly 100,000 remain. 

JESUS Film Project celebrates 2,100th translation

The JESUS Film Project celebrates its 2,100th translation of the JESUS Film. This historic translation brings the gospel to life in the Waorani tribe’s language from Ecuador.

You may recognize the Waorani tribe; their spearing party killed five American Christian missionaries back in 1956.

"We were requested about a year ago to do the Waorani language," says Chris Deckert, JFP’s Language Studios Director. “They’ve been in the spotlight of missions for many, many years after what happened with Jim Elliot and Nate Saint."

Worship director blows away judges on The Voice

A worship leader and professional backup singer recently took centre stage while auditioning for The Voice.

The powerhouse singer sang Deborah Cox's 'Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here' and had all the judges asking her to join their team. 

“It’s very difficult doing this audition, but you just handled it with such poise and grace," said John Legend. "I don’t know if you noticed, but I was the first one who turned for you. Your tone is so elegant. Do you sing in church? You sound like you do.”

Young Saskatchewan girl recovering after scary trip to hospital

A young girl from Saskatchewan who was rushed to hospital a week ago is recovering. 

Last Thursday, Kyla Thomson reached out for prayer after being awoken by her husband calling out for help from her 10-year-old daughter's room. 

"Her body was limp. She couldn’t open her eyes. We called 911," said Kyla. "We’ve never had to do that before. The four previous times Bella had gone septic or dealt with anything scary, she was already in a hospital or stable enough for us to drive her there before things went downhill."

Tim Tebow's wife releases first book, hopes her experiences help others become more confident in God

Tim Tebow's wife, Demi-Leigh, is officially an author.

On Monday, Tebow announced that she will release her first book, A Crown that Lasts: You Are Not Your Label, later this year. 

"When I sat down to begin writing it a few years ago, I realized I had so much internal work I still needed to do in order to write the message I felt God was calling me to write," said Tebow in a post on social media. "I realized that writing this book was just as much for myself as it was for you all, and it’s something I’m still learning too!"

The Chosen watch parties causing ripple effect in prisons

Multiple ministries are coming together to offer watch parties of The Chosen in prisons across America. 

Heather Rice-Minus, president and CEO of Prison Fellowship along with the Come and See Foundation are giving inmates access to a show about the life of Jesus Christ, The Chosen

"The Come and See Foundation really wanted to expand their audience to reach everyone with the authentic Jesus from the palace to prison, if you will," says Rice-Minus. "And, so, we said, 'Well, we would love to help with that.'"

Churches in Russia 'resourceful' and persevering in politically charged times

On Sunday, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin won a fifth term in office after nationwide elections that have received mixed international attention. 

Joel Griffith with the Slavic Gospel Association (SGA) affirms that during this season there has been a significant crackdown on any opposition to the government, as well as freedom of speech. 

"In terms of the churches, what they’ve tried to do is really focus on their ministries as much as possible," Griffith says. 

Samaritan's Purse Canada receives emergency field hospital

On Tuesday, Samaritan’s Purse will transport one of its Emergency Field Hospitals to Calgary to increase Samaritan’s Purse Canada’s capacity to launch international life-saving medical responses. The tent facility will arrive at the Calgary International Airport onboard the International Christian Relief organization’s DC-8 and 757 Cargo planes.
