Marlene Alice Payne age 81 years of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, passed away January 26, 2025 at The Meadows.

Marlene is survived by her partner Ken Peter; son Steve Payne (Dawn) and his children Tanner, Kylie; daughter Angela Barr (Bob) and their children James, Chris; daughter Lanette Payne and her children Dylan, Tyson; son Kelly Payne; sister’s Elsie Willock, Yvonne Dokken; great-grandson Norman Barr; and many nieces and nephews.

It is with great sadness that the family of Allen Fahselt of Cabri, Saskatchewan announce his passing on January 25, 2025 surrounded by his family. No formal service will be held at this time.

Born to George and Dorothy Fahselt in Cabri on May 2, 1944, Allen was the kindest of characters.

Glenna Velma Cory

Glenna Velma Cory age 98 of Swift Current, Saskatchewan passed away on January 21, 2025 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. At Glenna's request, no funeral services will take place. Glenna is survived by her son Vern (Lynn); Grandchildren: Michael and Trisha. Glenna is predeceased by her daughter Bonnie Robinson (June 2014) but survived by her grandchildren: Doug (Kelly), B.J., and Timothy. Glenna is predeceased by her husband Lawrence Clinton Cory (December 1998). Glenna was born on October 30, 1926 on a farm near Webb, Saskatchewan. Glenna married Lawrence on November 15, 1947.

Alma Louise Lech (Odbert)

Mom was born on the family farm south of Hazenmore on October 1, 1929, and passed away January 18, 2025 with family by her side.

Mom worked on the family farm with her mom and dad. She attended Dixie School with her siblings riding horse or walking. She helped her mom look after her sister Orva.

On September 30, 1948 Mom married Andrew Lech of Glen Bain. They farmed together side by side doing farm work and raising livestock.

Mom moved to Swift Current in 2015, where she met many new friends.

Joel Kouri

It is with profound sadness that the family of Joel Kouri announce his passing at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Joel peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side on January 14, 2025 at the age of 56.

He truly fought with all his energy to stay and continue to be a dad to his children, Colten and Lacie, whom he loved with all his heart. We love him and we will miss him.

Plans for a service to celebrate Joel’s life will be announced at a later date.

Ms. Louise Dumont

The funeral mass for Ms. Louise Dumont of Ponteix, Saskatchewan, will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from Notre Dame d' Auvergne Roman Catholic Church with Father Jules Adator officiating.

The prayer service will take place on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Notre Dame d’Auvergne Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will take place at the Ponteix Parish Cemetery in Ponteix, Saskatchewan.

Dorothy “Dot” Kouri

The family of Dorothy “Dot” Kouri are saddened to announce her passing, at the age of 69, on December 14th, 2024, at Clover House in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Dot cherished every moment in life and infused it with vibrancy that resonated deeply with those around her, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. She was a spirited soul who embraced an adventure. She loved music, dancing and creativity with boundless enthusiasm and will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved her.

On January 6, 2025, Philip Rudolph Baron hung up his cap a final time passing peacefully with his family by his side, entering the great beyond, likely armed with a thermos of coffee, a sly grin, and a knack for charming everyone in sight. Born September 6, 1931, to Henry and Barbara Baron on his families homestead just outside of Mankota, SK, knew from the start that life was meant to be lived with laughter, purpose, and a healthy dose of stubbornness.
