Package theft prompts safety reminder from Luseland Police
The Luseland Police Service are urging residents to take steps to protect their parcels after a confirmed theft at a home in early August.
Officials say being home for deliveries, arranging for a trusted person to pick up packages immediately, tracking deliveries closely or requesting an alternate drop-off location can help reduce the risk of theft.
The service recommends deterrents such as well-lit entryways and security cameras pointed at common delivery spots, including porches and front doors.
Police respond to golf cart mishap and noise complaint in Wilkie-Macklin region
RCMP in Wilkie and Macklin responded to a series of minor incidents between July 29 and August 4, including a medical call involving a fall from a moving golf cart.
Emergency services were called to Macklin after a person reportedly fell from a golf cart in motion. The individual was transported to the Provost Health Centre for assessment. The extent of injuries was not released.
Police also conducted a wellbeing check in Macklin and responded to a noise complaint, though officers were unable to locate the source. No further issues were reported.

Advance polls in a historic federal byelection for Alberta's Battle River-Crowfoot open today.
For the first time ever, Elections Canada says voters must fill out a blank ballot.
The agency lists a record 214 candidates running in the rural riding, with voting day on Aug. 18.
The majority are part of the Longest Ballot Committee, a protest group calling for various changes to Canada's electoral system.

Friday power outage affecting customers east of Lucky Lake
An unplanned power outage is scheduled for around Lucky Lake on Friday, that will affect approximately 35 SaskPower customers.
The outage is expected to run from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, affecting customers located east of the village, to the lake.
Berries bats come alive to send series back to Saskatoon
The Saskatoon Berries used a big offensive performance on Thursday night to tie up their Western Canadian Baseball League East semi-final series against the Moose Jaw Miller Express. The Berries went on the road for Game 2 and won 15-6, sending the series back to Saskatoon tonight.
"It was kind of a mixed bag": Environment Canada July recap
The month of July felt like summer despite certainly cooling down at times around the province.
Environment Canada meteorologist Christy Climenhaga used a common phrase to describe it.
"It was kind of a mixed bag in the month," began Climenhaga. "We did see a very cool end to the month in many areas, whereas we had a very hot start to (July)."
Climenhaga referenced a cool stretch from July 13 onwards that turned what would have been a blazing summer month into typical mid-year heat.
RCMP respond to sudden death, family disputes, and court breaches in Unity area
Unity RCMP responded to a wide range of calls between July 29 and August 4, including family disputes, a fraud investigation and a court-ordered arrest.
One individual was arrested after police responded to a complaint of disturbing the peace and determined the person had breached a court order. The subject was transported to North Battleford to be held for court.
In a separate disturbance case, RCMP located a person in distress and transported them to Unity Health Centre for assessment.
