I found this bull moose standing in a bright canola field, just enjoying a hot summer day. It's a good thing he was standing, otherwise I never would have seen him.
He slowly had a little lunch and worked his way further into the field. He wasn't in a rush and really had nowhere to be at any given time. I stayed back thinking he might want to cross the road in front of me, but that didn't cross his mind.
I was just thankful he gave me a few minutes to capture a few quick photos.

Biden says it has been his greatest honour to serve but he believes it is in the best interest of his party to stand down and focus solely on fulfilling his duties as president for the rest of his term.
Building investment in Saskatchewan sees double-digit growth
According to Statistics Canada’s most recent data, Saskatchewan saw a 12.9 per cent increase in building construction investment from May 2023 to May 2024.
Investment in building construction is calculated based on the total spending value on building construction within the province.
City of Estevan opens its doors for potential new daycare with bylaw
The city of Estevan could see a new daycare coming into operation with a bylaw being discussed which would open the doors to the development.
During the latest city council meeting, a report from Land Development Services talked about the project and what it was bringing to the area.

SE District boys' soccer team ready for Saskatchewan Summer Games
The boys' southeast district soccer team is in the final stretch as they prepare for their time in Lloydminster at the Saskatchewan Summer Games.
The SE district team consists of six different soccer clubs from the area. “We will be boarding a bus here in two days, on Sunday, going to Lloydminster, and we’ll be spending three days competing,” said Jason Roy, head coach of the boys' SE district soccer team.
There will be nine zones competing in the soccer event, with Roy adding that it is pretty much the best of the best at the U15 level.
Frobisher man finds 66 million year old fossil during yard project
A Frobisher man managed to dig up a find that's seeing the sun for the first time in over 66 million years.
Bob Steman was working on a yard project before discovering a fossil of an ammonite from a rock pile he was working with.
He describes some of the work that led to him finding the fossil.
Moosomin RCMP track down cattle thief near Whitewood
The Moosmin RCMP along with the Saskatchewan RCMP Livestock Investigator tracked down and caught a cattle thief after some suspicious sales.
On June 28, a Saskatchewan RCMP Livestock Investigator received a report from Livestock Services of Saskatchewan (LSS) about a potential suspicious livestock transaction. The Moosomin RCMP began investigating with the assistance of the Saskatchewan RCMP Livestock Investigator.
Temperatures expected to sharply climb this weekend
Temperatures are expected to heat up significantly next week getting well into extreme heat criteria.
The beginning of that heat will be relatively normal, with a few days hanging around our current temperature.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Brian Proctor says those temperatures are spiking rapidly in the middle of the week.
