AHS warns Strathmore residents to watch out for signs of measles
Alberta Health Services confirmed that one person with measles has been in several spots in Calgary while infectious.
According to AHS, the case is believed to have been acquired internationally.
If any Strathmore residents have been at the locations below during these specific times, AHS is warning them to watch out for signs of measles.

As Strathmore residents gear up to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones, the town is planning for adjusted hours for its facilities.
December 24:
- Strathmore Municipal Building open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Aquatic Centre closed.
- Family Centre open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sports Centre open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
December 25:
Highway 1 lane closed after serious car crash near Strathmore
One of the westbound lanes on Highway 1 was blocked by firefighters on Thursday (Dec. 19) following a serious car crash.
Police received a call at around 8:15 a.m. to assist an ambulance with a T-bone crash at the intersection of Range Road 254 just outside of Strathmore.

A livestock producer from southeastern Manitoba says he is seeing the results of using regenerative agriculture principles on their farm.
Guy Bouchard farms in the Gardenton area. He explains that regenerative agriculture is farming with a sense of soil health and livestock health. Bouchard adds it is about thinking long-term and not just of short-term gains.
Chestermere RCMP charge two teenagers following assault of young girl
Chestermere RCMP has arrested and charged a 14-year-old boy with the assault of another young teen along with uttering threats.
A news release says on Monday (Dec. 16) RCMP received a report that an assault took place in a back alley near Chestermere Lake Drive.
Police confirmed to StrathmoreNow that the victim was a young girl.
"A video of the assault has spread on social media and RCMP have received additional reports from concerned individuals who have seen the video," wrote police.
Strathmore firefighters come up big with donation to food bank
The Strathmore Fire Department made a generous donation to the Wheatland County Food Bank.
On Tuesday (Dec. 17) the Food Bank announced that the firefighters donated 1,411 pounds of food and $1,662 in an unexpected delivery.
"They were pretty floored as we kept bringing the boxes in," said Fire Chief Dave Sturgeon. "They were surprised by how much we actually did in that time frame. They were super appreciative of everything we did for them."
Trudeau weighs his options as his path to stay on as prime minister narrows
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is considering his options after Chrystia Freeland's bombshell resignation Monday heightened calls for him to step down.
Freeland resigned as finance minister on Monday — the same day she was scheduled to present the fall economic statement and just days after Trudeau told her she would be moved out of the finance job.
Trudeau's decision appears to have backfired spectacularly, igniting a chorus of calls for him to resign, including from several Liberal MPs, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and the Toronto Star's editorial board.
Strathmore to host women's football camp in January
The South Calgary Female Colts tackle football team features both U16 and U19 teams and the group is looking for more girls to join in on the fun.
There are two teams in Calgary split north and south along with the east outlying areas including Strathmore, Chestermere, and Langdon.
"There's not firm boundaries, but we're just kind of trying to incorporate everybody and kind of get as furthest reach as possible," mentioned Tatrina Medvescek, head coach of the organization.
One impaired driver busted at Candy Cane Checkstop in Chestermere
Chestermere RCMP were alongside local firefighters for the Candy Cane Checkstop in the city.
The event ran from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 17) at Chestermere Boulevard, with around 400 vehicles going through to learn about safe winter driving.
"We're greeting the public and giving back to them for driving safely during the holiday season," said Eli Steinfeld with municipal enforcement. "Our primary goal is to say thank you and let people know about safe ways to get home."
