Portage La Prairie Library prepares for spooktacular Trick-or-Treat event
The Portage La Prairie Regional Library is gearing up for its much-anticipated annual trick-or-treat event on October 26, running from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The library's Community Program Coordinator, Leah O'Leary, says that this year's event will feature twelve different local organizations, including long-time sponsor Co-op.
Families can expect a fun filled atmosphere, as the event has attracted nearly 1,000 children in previous years.
"It's going to be very busy and very loud for those three hours," O'Leary laughed.

Rob Carnie: One more thing, there's been some backlash from a number of locals over the fact that several concession outlets at the Moose Jaw Events Center are no longer accepting cash. Can we talk about why that decision was made and maybe what sort of feedback you've received at City Hall?
Maryse Carmichael: I think some people initially were concerned because I think the perception was that it was all concessions were now (no longer) accepting cash and that's not the case.
