The Government of Saskatchewan is hosting the 2025 Saskatchewan Aerospace and Defence Forum in partnership with the Saskatchewan Aviation Council.
The event aims to highlight the province’s contributions to the sector at a national and international level.
Premier Smith not sold on killing of consumer carbon tax, wants industrial levy plan
Despite calling for its demise for years, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she isn't fazed by the new prime minister's move to kill the consumer carbon levy.
On Friday — moments after news broke that Prime Minister Mark Carney had eliminated the pricing scheme — Smith told reporters in Calgary the real test of the new federal government will be how it levies carbon pricing on industrial polluters.
"Every time I have heard the new prime minister speak, he has said that he doesn't think (industrial) prices are high enough," she said.

Canadian woman returns home after being detained by U.S. immigration officials
A Canadian woman detained for nearly two weeks by immigration officials in the United States is back on home soil, her mother confirmed.
Alexis Eagles said her daughter, Jasmine Mooney, landed at the Vancouver International Airport at around midnight Saturday and returned to her home in the city.
Eagles said she was at the airport to greet her 35-year-old daughter, along with friends of the businesswoman and former actress.

RM of Enniskillen recognized for innovative grazing project
The R.M. of Enniskillen No. 3 received recognition for enhancing community well-being through the 18th annual Saskatchewan Municipal Awards.
The municipality was awarded the Top Rural Municipal Initiative for the RM of Enniskillen Grazing Project.
The awards celebrate innovative practices by Saskatchewan municipal governments. The projects highlight excellence in sustainable land stewardship, accessibility, cooperation, and addressing community needs.
Estevan police make three arrests in separate incidents
Estevan police arrested three people in separate incidents on March 12. involving court order breaches and an assault at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Police responded to a call at St. Joseph’s Hospital for a report of an unruly patient. A 45-year-old Estevan woman was arrested for assaulting a nurse. She was later released and will appear in Estevan provincial court at a later date.
Saskatchewan introduces changes to fees and charges for electric vehicles, liquor, camping, and more
The government of Saskatchewan is putting out some changes when it comes to fees and charges as 2025 continues.
Their first change is utilizing The Fuel Tax Accountability Act, which ensures that the fuel tax is used properly to help maintain Saskatchewan's roads. As electric vehicles do not pay the fuel tax, Saskatchewan is upping the annual road use charge for these electric vehicles from $150 to $300.
