Due to a snow dump earlier this week, previously scheduled paving work at the entrance to Nose Creek Park was postponed until today.

Signs have been erected near the entrance, reminding residents that the area will be off-limits for the day, from 7 a.m. until the evening. 

Airdrie motorists may want to take note of a recent study showing that Alberta is ranked fifth in Canada for road traffic injuries. This raises concerns about potential pressure on emergency healthcare services across the province, mainly since the city is near one of the province's main transport arteries, the QEII. 

A previously stalled over-dimensional load on Highway 772, just west of Airdrie that had caused a full road closure near Township Road 264 - has been cleared.

The QEII towards Calgary city limits is partly covered with snow, with icy wheel paths and slippery sections. Similar conditions are observed on the QEII north of Airdrie. Roads in Calgary, including main arterial routes such as Deerfoot, are in good condition, though slush is reported. Motorists should also be aware that road crews are clearing snow.

The City of Airdrie is reminding residents that the entrance to Nose Creek Park will be off-limits on Monday due to the entranceway being paved.

Although the closure is scheduled to last from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, the weather may postpone the paving to a later date. 

An earlier vehicle fire that shut down a portion of Stoney Trail has since re-opened.

A temporary lane closure on Main Street South, north of Ridgegate Way, will begin today and last until next month.

According to the City of Airdrie, the closures will last until Wednesday, November 6, to accommodate construction activities for the Airdrie Multi-Use Facility and Library.

Commuters in Airdrie should prepare for overnight ramp closures due to bridge maintenance on Deerfoot Trail and Stoney Trail. Detours will be in place to help drivers navigate the closures.

Closure Details:

Motorists travelling on Highway 566 west of Balzac should expect delays as fibre optic utility work occurs between Range Road 11 and Range Road 13. The construction began on October 3 and is scheduled to continue daily until October 17, with work hours running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
